🧠 The Big Idea

A mineral is any natural compound of a metal; an ore is a mineral worth mining for metal.
More reactive metals hold their compounds tightly → need powerful electrolysis. Less reactive ones come out easily by heating/reduction.
An alloy mixes metals to get better properties — e.g. steel (iron + carbon) is far stronger than pure iron.
